Alex Osipenko, Double bass

Alex was born in 1985 in the city of Rostov, Russia. He started his musical career at the age of 13 as a jazz bass-guitarist. After 2 years he changed to double bass and combined both classical and jazz study on this instrument. In 2001 he entered the Rostov State Rachmaninov Conservatoire, later transferring to the Minsk Academy of Music in 2004, where he studied with N. Krivosheev. Whilst studying in Minsk he also worked with the Belorussian State Phliharmonie for two years. Alex is a graduate of the Prins Claus Conservatorium in the Netherlands where he studied with Sorin Orchinsci.
