Jon Dahlkvist, viola

 

Born in Sweden, Jon’s life has always been full of music. He was raised in a family of seven persons where all are, or soon becoming, professional musicians. He began at an early age playing piano and singing and he started his violin studies by the age of eight. In high school, Jon felt it natural to change to viola and two years later his studies at Royal University College of Music in Stockholm started. After four years in Stockholm, he continued his studies at Conservatory of Perugia in Italy within the ERASMUS exchange program. After that he has been in the Netherlands, where he just finished his studies at Prins Claus Conservatoire in Groningen for Mrs. Gisella Bergman. The coming two years he will specialise within the Master program at Fontys Conservatorium in Tilburg.  Please visit his website:

Beethoven, Stravinsky and Mozart.

 

Are you a cat or a dog person?

Neither really, fish are fine. I take care of my laptop in a way that resembles caring for an animal...

Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp, Pirates of the Carrabean)

 

What 3 foods can you not live without?

Pasta, vegetables and chocolate

 

When you were 6, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I was doubting between theoretical physicist or orchestral conductor

 

If you could wake up on holidays tomorrow anywhere in the world, where would it be?

A remote island in Stockholm Archipelago

 

What are you non musicals hobbies/interests?

Non-musical you said? Well, experiencing nature, staying fit and healthy, computing

 

Who is your favourite author?

Not sure, but I am touched by Herman Hesse

 

What are you annoyed by?

Chronically pessimistic people

 

Who are you inspired by?

Unstoppably positive people, people that have an underlying good philosophy in whatever they undertake. For music: Yuri Bashmet, Nicolaus Harnoncourt, Miguel da Silva (Quatuor Ysayë) and most good string quartets
