Romana Porumb, violin

 

 

Romana Porumb, born in Romania, started studying violin under the guidance of her mother at the age of six. After graduating form the ”Ion Vidu“ Music High School she was admitted to the ”West University, Music Faculty“ - Timisoara where she studied with G. Negrutiu, I. Fernbach, R. Georgescu. She has attended violin master classes with B. Zvoristeanu, F. Paul, T. Popa, R. Hoogeveen.

 

Before moving to The Netherlands she was a member of the ”Banatul“ State Symphony Orchestra and performed as soloist and chamber musician in Romania and abroad. Romana Porumb furtheres her studies with Florian Donderer at the ”Prins Claus Conservatorium“ in Groningen. She performs frequently with the North Netherlands Orchestra (NNO) and as a soloist with the ”Mira“- Groningen Student Orchestra. She is also an assistant teacher at the Prins Claus Conservatorium.
